How to Repurpose your Content for Pinterest and why you'd want to

Want to learn how to make Pinterest work for your business but your content is invested into another platform? Let me guess, you have tons of value to share with your audience and already have a community on YouTube, Facebook or Instagram with little time to spare for creating more content for Pinterest or a blog section for your website?

Many of my clients are so hesitant to dive into blogging and cringe when they hear me mention it at first. I get it, blogging takes a lot of dedication and time and even more so when you’re already creating content for all of your social media platforms. The funny this is that it doesn’t have to take much time at all! Lets think about this, you already have a great content idea for one of your platforms - why not use it for all of them?

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Create your Facebook Live or Instagram Story sharing your valuable content

  2. Export it and upload it to YouTube. If your preferred platform is YouTube, no problem! Just skip step one.

  3. Embed the video into the blog section of your website - you don’t even have to write anything besides a title and perhaps an opening sentence or question like “Want to learn my secrets to xyz, watch my video”. Alternatively, if you had the time, you could summarise your video into short sentences below the video for those of us who prefer reading.

  4. Create a click-worthy pin for your blog post and upload it to Pinterest.

Bonus Tip: Take a key point or lesson from your video and create a caption for your Instagram and a post for a Facebook group

Why go through all the trouble?

We all know Pinterest is a huge driver of traffic that links a targeted audience to your services and products. You don’t want to be missing out simply because you’re only focusing on Facebook or IG when you could have access to it all. Blog posts are important for Pinterest because the traffic you’ll be getting is cold traffic meaning the viewer won’t know or trust you yet. Viewers like to purchase from brands and businesses they love and trust, right?

Once they read your valuable content and come to know you as an expert in your field, they’ll be more likely find out about your killer Facebook group or click to see your services or purchase that product you’re selling. Blog posts keep the viewer on your site and you have a lower bounce rate - its a win-win really!
